Pool of mentors at HZT Berlin

In all three of the HZT’s programmes, mentors support students when working on their projects. This project-related mentoring is a part of the curriculum in all of the HZT’s degree programmes and means that students and mentors enter into an intense dialogue over the course of a creative process. The mentors come from the fields of dance, music, theory, dramaturgy, architecture, production, curating and others.

Since Berlin is the base for many internationally active artists, mentoring offers numerous interfaces between HZT students and Berlin’s art scene.

At the beginning of their studies, students already get a first impression of Berlin’s art scene through the HZT pool of mentors. They can quickly orient themselves in the first months, get to know works by artists that they find interesting and prepare themselves for selecting a future mentor.

All mentors are also invited to approach the students, get to know their work and consider who they could imagine working with. So either the students find their mentors, or vice versa, the mentors find their students.

The HZT’s pool of mentors is not a closed list, but rather a pool of mentors that changes over time.
