During the winter and summer semester of 2016/2017, she will be a visiting professor at the Institut für Bewegungswissenschaft/Performance Studies of the Universität Hamburg. After her studies of German literary history and literature with a focus on theatre and media, she attained her doctorate in 1998 in the field of cultural sciences at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. Afterwards, she had numerous visiting professorships for theater and dance sciences (Universität Hamburg, Freie Universität Berlin, Universität Bern). In 2011, she habilitated at the Institut für Theaterwissenschaft of the Universität Leipzig with a study on the knowledge culture of dance: the choreographed body in theater. After a guest professorship for the theory and history of theatre at the performing arts faculty of the University of the Arts Berlin, she devoted her studies at the “Das Wissen der Künste“ post-graduate programme to questions of choreography as a carrier for body and movement knowledge.
